MISSION
Rosie's House has recently relocated to a newly renovated building in the heart of downtown Phoenix. Directly on the light rail line and near Chase Field, the Legends District, Phoenix Historic Warehouse District, Ballet Arizona, and other concert, event, and cultural venues, this site needs an exciting facade that speaks directly to the young musical talent being developed within its walls.

INSPIRATION

MUSIC / YOUTH / VISIBILITY Above all, this new mural should tell the visual story of Rosie's House—which is MUSIC; it's youth, it's color, it's local, it's community. It's about uplifting, inspiring and emboldening all students through arts and culture. The primary wall is a crisp white, and there is a rich blue accent color featured on the trim work wrapping the front of the building. Other pops of lime green and orange are present on the interior, so there is a wide latitude to the palette. The suggested treatment of the stripe of textural aggregate should be addressed in the artist's proposal. |

PHOTOGENIC / INTERACTIVE Last year, Rosie's House celebrated the graduation of 22 high school seniors. Not only is there an opportunity to create a visual moment to help next year's graduates commemorate their achievements, but an 'interactive' element(s) would undoubtedly draw other community members for photo ops that help spread awareness about this organization, its missions, and its students' accomplishments. |
